This upcoming Sunday, June 15, is Father’s Day, a holiday that reminds us of the importance that a father or father-figure can have in our lives. These men help instill values like respect, fortitude, a hard work ethic, and putting the needs of others before our own. My dad made sure to teach me these values early on and is my biggest role model and the man I look to when I need guidance or help.
Within the prolife movement, men play a pivotal role in helping their pregnant partner choose life. A study done by Cureus found that, out of 226 women who had gotten an abortion, 60% said they would have chosen life if they felt they had more financial or emotional support.
As men, it is essential that we stand in solidarity with women who are experiencing an unexpected pregnancy or one that they do not feel they have enough support to continue. Standing side-by-side with her in this important time can make a large difference in her confidence in choosing life.
At Right to Life of Michigan, we celebrate the men who have accepted the call to fatherhood. Their impact is immeasurable and extremely valuable. Whether they help lead their partner to a Pregnancy Resource Center or make an effort to ensure she feels heard and supported, men play a greater role in choosing life than many realize.
